Committee on Ministry

Members:

14 members: 3 from each area of Presbytery, plus 2 additional members, one from the north or west area, the other from the south or east area. The committee is to elect co-moderators from among committee members, one from the north or west area, the other from the south or east area. In accordance with the Book of Order G-9.0501b, at least one half of the members shall be laypersons.

Responsibilities:

In consultation with the Mission Visioning Council, this committee will seek to support the Presbytery's vision by:

• Working in consultation with Committee on Mission for triennial consultations, and other responsibilities which may be delegated.
• Fulfilling the Book of Order responsibilities as described in G-11.0502.
• In most cases, acting on behalf of Presbytery in approving calls, and other appropriate responsibilities as permitted in the Book of Order G-11.0502h.

Note: The three COM Members from each area are to serve as interview group for new calls. Co-moderators are to be from different geographic areas.

Note: This Committee is expected to use Task Groups to fulfill the responsibilities listed. The  task groups (which may include non-members of COM) will exercise support and oversight of churches as assigned by "area" COM.
