Committee on Nominations

Members:

6 members: one from each area of Presbytery, and a Moderator. Membership is to be one third teaching elders, one third laywomen, and one third laymen.

Responsibilities:

• Nominates:  officers of presbytery, members of committees, members of those commissions not appointed by the moderator of presbytery, Commissioners and YADS to Synod and General Assembly, and other service opportunities in the Synod as requested by the Synod.
• Fulfills its responsibility guided by the Book of Order G-3.0111.
• Acts as the committee on representation whose function is to serve as an advocate for representation of racial ethnic members, women, different age groups and persons with disabilities, as listed in the Book of Order (G-3.0103).
• Works to match gifts and interests with Presbytery service opportunities
• Develops two way communication with Committees and Commissions to assure that individuals with gifts and energy needed on those Committees and Commissions are nominated for membership.
